> About us

CORAC constitutes a regional network which gathers 17 associations of international workcamps in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur area. CORAC was created in 1989.

For more than 25 years, it has defended, developed and promoted the movement of international volunteer sites in Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur as a tool for sustainable development of the territory.

Actions and missions of the network CORAC

  • It supports associations with local initiative projects that wish to organize a project.
  • It implements the communication necessary for the development of these projects among young people and the general public, institutions, local communities and associations,
  • It organizes training sessions for construction workers.
  • It plays an active role during the regional consultation which brings together the various institutional partners (decentralized services of the State, Regional Councils and the General Councils) within the framework of the study and the financing of the projects.

The creation of the network

Until 1989 a large number of workcamps associations in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region were grouped together in a regional union of workcamp sites and at the same time the national associations organizing projects in this region were represented by the regional correspondent of Cotravaux. In 1989, the vast majority of national and regional associations decided to join a regional network: the Regional Commission of Building Associations.
